Another rant about apostrophes...

I know I sound like a broken record but bad apostrophe use really annoys me. My rant of the day is about Mothers' Day. 

Now as far as I'm aware this is a day for mothers (plural). You don't just celebrate your own Mum, you send cards and gifts to your grandmothers too which would mean the apostrophe should go after the S, not before. 

Why then, does autocorrect on my iphone change it to Mother's Day and every shop in the land advertise with the apostrophe in the wrong place?

Or you could be like Clintons Cards and miss the apostrophe out completely! Even worse.

I think we should all start calling it by its traditional name, Mothering Sunday. Much easier!!
